Driving Directions to the Centre Furnace Mansion

The Centre Furnace Mansion is located at 1001 East College Avenue, at the corner of East College Avenue (Route 26) and Porter Road, just minutes from downtown State College and the Penn State Campus. The Mansion is set off from the road, behind W.E. Esber Imported Rugs near Damon's Restaurant.

From the Philadelphia area, take the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76) West towards Harrisburg. Use the Harrisburg East exit and follow I-283 to I-83 and proceed north on I-83 to the I-81 interchange. Then follow I-81 West to the Route 322/22 West exit. Proceed west on Route 322 through Lewistown to State College. Use the Route 26/East College Avenue exit. Turn left at the traffic light onto East College Avenue. Travel for 1 mile, passing the Hampton Inn on the right, then turn right at the next traffic light (Porter Road). Make your first right into the Centre Furnace Mansion parking lot.

From the Pittsburgh area, take Route 22 East to I-99 North/Route 220 North, towards Altoona. Merge onto Route 220 North/Route 322 towards State College. Follow Route 322/Mount Nittany Expressway to the Route 26/East College Avenue exit. Travel for 1 mile, passing the Hampton Inn on the right; then turning right at the next traffic light (Porter Road). Make your first right into the Centre Furnace Mansion parking lot.

A scenic route follows Route 22 East beyond Duncansville to Water Street, Route 45 East to Pine Grove Mills and Route 26 North to State College. Continue along Route 26, passing directly through downtown State College (via Beaver Avenue) and under the University Drive overpass. At the next traffic light (Porter Road) turn left. Make your first right into the Centre Furnace Mansion parking lot. This route is not recommended in snowy weather.

From the New York City area, take I-80 West to Pennsylvania. In Pennsylvania, take the 220 South exit towards Route 322 and Bellefonte. From 220 South, exit at the Penn State University and Visitor's Center exit. You will be on Park Avenue heading towards Beaver Stadium. At the traffic light in front of the stadium, (Porter Road) turn left. Follow Porter Road past the Visitor's Center and Bryce Jordan Center until you reach the Centre Furnace Mansion parking lot on your left.
